The 4th annual Musical Soul Food Festival (MSF FEST) took place the weekend of June 21-22, 2019 at Chesapeake City Park in Chesapeake, VA. This year's MSF FEST was a two-day event with multiple performances each night. This year's festival was sponsored in part by CVS Health, Compassion International, Virginia Tourism Corporation and Rejoice! Musical Soul Food Syndication Network.
The Friday night kickoff titled, The MSF Comedy Show & Family Fun Night was free and open to the public. It featured a comedy show, artists showcase, family games and vendors. Friday was also a time set aside to pray for the victims and families impacted by the recent Virginia Beach mass shooting.

Saturday started early morning with vendors firing up the grills for barbecue and seafood, rehearsals and soundchecks and folks lining up at the gates. When the gates finally opened at 2 pm, the influx of people was massive and continuous. Friends, families and children alike were all excited about the many live performances, the plethora food/beverage and merchandise vendors, the exciting activities in THE ZONE and the onsite sponsorship engagements.
Back-by-popular demand this year was THE ZONE. This is the kids area of the festival that featured LIVE youth performances, basketball tournaments, video games, marching bands, teen choirs, soloists and groups. The entertainment for THE ZONE consisted of only youth performers...entertainment by youth for youth. The kids loved it! This year's The Zone activities was produced and managed by EMA Music & Arts, a non-profit agency whose mission is to teach music lessons to undeserved youth in Hampton Roads.

A key highlight this year was the response and support of the many delicious food and beverage vendors, the jewelry/fashion and informational vendors onsite. There was also great response to our sponsors; CVS Health conducted health screenings and Compassion International's outreach to "Sponsor A Child" in need.
The MSFFest main stage headline performances included Kurt Carr & The Kurt Carr Singers, Fred Hammond, James Fortune, Dr. Juanita Bynum, The Virginia Aires, Joshua Rogers and Earl Bynum. New Music Spotlight performers featured G.I., Tamyya J, Isaac Jemes, Lindsay Slayton, The Brown Boyz, The Group Fire and many others.

Kurt Carr received rave reviews! He performed a string of classic hits that had people singing along, in tears and on their feet praising & worshiping. The high energy of Fred Hammond catapulted the audience to another level of praise as he performed his chart topping worship hits. Dr. Juanita Bynum concluded the awesome day by singing and worshiping which lead to praying for people and touching the hearts and souls of all in attendance.
To keep all of the action moving and on schedule, credit belongs to the Musical Soul Food Radio network of on-air talent a.k.a MSF Airforce consisting of Mike Chandler, Tracy Morgan, Cedric Bailey, Ace Alexander, Letricia Lofton, Earl Bynum, Lucinda Moore and Dr. CL Williams. The entire team onsite site hosting, meeting & greeting listeners
In just 4 years, over 50,000 music fans have attended the MSFFest. It has become a favorite event destination for families and friends to connect and enjoy hours of fun, inspiration and great music. The MSFFest is more than music....It's A Family Affair!

Hi
I read the festival highlights, and it really showed how music and food bring people together with joy and history in each performance. Last term I was stuck with finals and had to use an online exam help service so I could finish my tests without falling behind when everything hit at once. That made me think that good support can make big challenges feel lighter and more doable.
I read the highlights from the Musical Soul Food Festival 2019, and it really showed how music, food, and culture can bring people together in joyful ways and make a strong community feel alive. One semester was so full of work that I actually had to pay someone to do my online class just to keep up with everything piling up. That made me see how support can make hard times feel more manageable.
I enjoyed reading the highlights from the Musical Soul Food Festival because it really brings the music and community to life in a fun way. When I was stuck on a big paper last term I used Write My Economics Assignment to get past a tough section so I could take a break and enjoy events like this without stress. That taught me that finishing hard parts early gives you more time for good moments.
